When was the last time you took a long vacation?
It’s been ages. I went to Goa for three days during New Year’s. The last real vacation I took was over three years ago… I went to Europe with my parents.
When was the last time you took a look at your awards?
They’re lying on a shelf in my house, so I glance at them whenever I pass. [Smiles] Last year has been really good thanks to Kaminey, so my shelf has a whole lot of new entries!
When was the last time you watched a movie?
I watched Badmaash Company last week, in a regular theatre with a few friends.
When was the last time you asked somebody for an autograph?
Wow! That’s a big one. [Smiles] It’s been a while…
When was the last time you gave someone a gift?
I gifted a dear friend of mine a bike on his birthday recently.
When was the last time you played a prank on someone?
I was always playing pranks on the sets of Badmaash Company. [Laughs] Vir [Das] and [Meiyang] Chang were petrified of dancing, so Ahmed [Khan], the choreographer and I told them that they had to prepare for a dance sequence within one hour and it totally freaked them out!
When was the last time you felt embarrassed?
I’m not very good with compliments, so when people treat me like a star or tell me that a role I did was very good, I feel a little embarrassed.
When was the last time you felt you needed a break?
In a sense, I’ve been on a break since Badmaash Company released. [Smiles] In fact, I’m looking forward to working again.

When was the last time you hit the gym?
Two days ago.
When was the last time you felt inspired by someone?
My father is a big inspiration to me. Spending time with him — just having a simple conversation with him — is so inspiring.
When was the last time you had a heart-to-heart talk with your dad?
This morning. He was quite angry with me because I was meant to leave the country to start shooting for my next film Mausam but my departure was delayed… I got quite an earful from him today for lagging behind on my schedule!
When was the last time you thought a role was challenging?
I thought my role in Kaminey was really challenging. So is my part in Mausam, actually.
When was the last time you saw your first movie, Ishq Vishk?
Wow! It’s been ages! At least three or four years, I’d say.
When was the last time you heard a ridiculous rumour about yourself?
All the time… rumours about me dating my co-stars and fighting with my directors! This time I’m happy that my next film is directed by my dad, so hopefully there will be no rumours.
When was the last time you felt nervous?
I’m a little nervous every time I start a new film and every time I am on stage, performing in front of a live audience.
When was the last time you felt intimidated by someone?
It’s rare for me to feel intimidated by anyone but yes, once I bumped into Sachin Tendulkar in an elevator… I didn’t feel intimidated, it was more awe. I’ve grown up watching him play cricket and he’s amazing. [Smiles] I don’t think I can have a one-on-one conversation with him.
What is the last thing you do before going to bed every night?
Without fail, I pray.
When was the last time you read OK! magazine?
Oh, I’m a regular reader! I read OK! whenever I can get my hands on it. I find the magazine very interesting, because it gives you a more personal take. Unlike the tabloids, OK! presents a celebrity’s life from a wholesome perspective. It’s a refreshing change!
